Well they have several "never released before" tracks, so don't expect that track to be released. Who knows... it might be released in the future under another title (an maby other lyrics or vocals).

Senior will have a female guest vocalist! According to Röyksopp themselves there will be a "hidden gem" on the album, but we don't know anything except that it is a female voice.

oh.....that's why they gave vague saying at first, about intrumental or any vocal.

In fact in the end of July, they were saying Senior would be out in this winter, in quite a few interviews. So let's hope it will truly be out this year.

Apologies for the double post, but I couldn't figure out how to delete my old post. *shifty*
Anyway, Röyksopp did an interview with BBC Radio 1's Nick Grimshaw and said that due to Junior's success, Senior won't be coming out until next year (which someone mentioned before on here; can't remember who said it). Oh well. At least it's still being released. =)

yeah, from a business point of view, having senior come out so close to the release of junior would cannabalize the sale of Junior. Spacing them apart would let each other the albums stand alone and let each one get the attention it needs.

After attending a Röyksopp concert yesterday, I have a strong suspicion that music from "Senior" was playing before and after the show. All tracks sounded so much like Röyksopp, or something they could come up with. And they fit the description of being mostly instrumental. I heard one track with vocals and as far as my ears are concerned, it was Karen Dreijer (Fever Ray) singing. It may have been some remix of a Fever Ray track, of course, but.. like I said... everything sounded SO Röyksopp.

So, I wouldn't be surprised if the female singer on Senior is Karen Dreijer. And I also wouldn't be surprised if one of the few vocal tracks - and the hidden gem - is "I Wanna Know". It's really good and it could serve very well as a single to promote the album.

Yes it's getting exciting because Röyksopp are known for re-using tracks or elements from rare tracks. An updated version of Your Hands. I think it's called Tremor Morning at the concerts could also be a potential candidate for Senior.

Hopefully 'Prefix' has their numbers wrong, but they're claiming a 28 December 2010 release date for 'Senior'. Let's hope they meant to say 2009.

The likelihood is that the provisional release date of Senior was December 2009, and this (2010) is a typo. It seems likely that the release date will be in 2010 now, due to the popularity of Junior and the singles from Junior. I don't think it will be released as late as December 2010 though, Senior is more likely IMO to be a Spring/Summer release.

I agree, but still very little is known.

Wikipedia has the following (source based) information about Senior:

Senior is a forthcoming album from Norwegian duo Röyksopp, set for release in 2010. The album has been described as an introspective, withdrawn, atmospheric counterpart to energetic Junior. Röyksopp described the album as having an "autumn mood" to it, while Junior has a "spring feel". In an interview with KCRW, Svein Berge likened Senior to "the senile sibling of Junior who lives in the attic." Three track titles have been confirmed so far: "The Alcoholic", "The Fear" and "Coming Home". "The Alcoholic" has been described by the band as a "nostalgic idea based on this hobo who hitchhikes on trains and travels from place to place".

According to Svein 'This Must Be It' is likely the last single from Junior...maybe the release of Senior is not too far off...
